Black fungus is rich in protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, vitamins B1 and B2, lecithin etc. It is an excellent blood tonic, whereby it contains 7 times as much as iron as in an animal’s liver. It increases the fluidity of the blood, improves circulation and treats atherosclerosis. It is also helpful for preventing tumors. It is low in calories and is therefore useful food to be included in weight loss diets.
